As one of the longest running programs in the country Specialty Insurance has been managing its Restaurant and Tavern Program for over 30 Years. Underwritten with QBE Insurance Company (A+) with over 10 Billion in assets the program is one of the broadest and most competitive in the country.
Hotels and Motels were recently added to the program in the Northeast and will be expanded to all states shortly. In addition Specialty has introduced a Surplus Lines Entertainment Program in the Northeast which will also be expanded to all states in the near future.
The officers of the Company have a wide range of experience in the insurance industry and are each experts in their field.
Barry Moffett
President and CEO
Barry started in the insurance industry in 1968 and founded Specialty Insurance in 1976 during hard market conditions. Brokering retail business through the emergence of specialty hospitality markets, the agency began specializing in restaurant and tavern business and quickly built a reputation as a specialist in the field. Specialty became a Managing General Agency in 1984 and has been providing a stable market to its producers for over 25 years.
William Moffett
Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of Specialty Insurance
William oversees accounting, data systems, regulatory compliance, personnel and administrative services. Prior to joining Specialty Insurance in 1992, Mr. Moffett spent 23 years in the financial department with Bell of Pennsylvania, AT&T and Bell Atlantic in the areas of Corporate Accounting, Property & Cost Accounting, Data Systems, Financial Analysis and Treasury. Mr. Moffett is a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology.
Jim Drummond
Vice President of Commercial Lines Underwriting for Specialty Insurance
Jim has been underwriting Commercial lines business in the property and casualty industry since 1962. Before joining Specialty Insurance in 1989, Mr. Drummond spent 18 years as Underwriting Manager for the Hartford Insurance Group in New Jersey, where he oversaw their Commercial Package department. Mr. Drummond is a graduate of Bryant College.
William Watters
Vice President of Marketing for Specialty Insurance
William has been in the insurance industry since 1987. Included in this area are managing the network of brokers in 20 states, advertising, trade shows, brochures, state outings as well as assisting in the development and implementation of new products and coverages. Prior to joining Specialty Insurance Mr. Watters' positions were in marketing and sales in the industrial field throughout North America. Mr. Watters is a graduate of Youngstown University.
George Stickle
Vice President, Hospitality Claims,
George has been in the insurance industry since 1970. Prior to joining Specialty Insurance Co, Mr. Stickle managed Commercial and Personal Lines claims for Travelers for 7 years and PRUPAC for 22 years. He joined Specialty Insurance in 2000. Mr. Stickle is a graduate of Seton Hall University.
Charles Cordani
Manager of the Loss Control Department
Charles has been employed in the Loss Control area since 2002. Mr. Cordani is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and has more than 25 years combined experience in the Restaurant and Financial services industries. Mr. Cordani is a graduate of Saint Bonaventure University.
